Travel articles Take Me Home, Italian Roads I've just completed a jaunt along Mexico's Mayan Riviera (more on that soon), and although I still have another month or so on the road, word of new openings in my adopted country, Italy, has been tempting me home. If you are heading that way this year, here are some places that you, too, should keep on the radar.
BoardWalk Inn The Boardwalk is a destination all to itself, with restaurants, clubs, midway games and a great view. The pool is themed to a 1930s Atlantic seacoast resort, with a roller coaster-style water slide ending in a giant clown face. There is also a carousel pool bar and whimsical elephant fountains. A boat ferries guests to nearby Epcot and MGM theme parks; alternatively, you can take a short walk to the International Gateway and dine at any of Epcot's World Showcase restaurants. Visit Obama's Oahu The February 2009 issue Condé Nast Traveler pays its respects to the 44th president with a guide to Obama's Hawaiian haunts, a sampling of eateries, beaches, and hang-outs far off the familiar, lei-strewn path of the typical tourist.
