Jamaican Halloween Spooktacular 2016 - Track Seventeen - Dark Of The Moon Distinctly Jamaican Sounds Day 331 of 365 Day Jamaican Music Challenge - King Tubby - Everybody Needs Dub Speaking of legendary, one can not stress the importance that Osbourne "King Tubby" Ruddock had on Jamaican music or a multitude of diverse genres of music that followed from places all over the globe.  It is claimed that King Tubby was the originator of the remix and the skill he showed behind the controls of his custom-made, 12 channel mixing console at his tiny studio in the Waterhouse district of Kingston still confounds my mind.  Tubby would take the master tapes from producers and engineers who actually had enough studio space to record the music and turn them into absolute gold; literally playing the mixing board like an instrument.  Today tune "Everybody Needs Dub" is Tubby's take of Al Campbell's "Everybody Needs Love" recorded for producer Bunny Lee and it comes from the excellent 1999 album Dub Like Dirt on Blood & Fire.  This is pure niceness! more
